Specific Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain communication plans and strategies in support of the general goals and policies set by the institute.
  • Research and prepare background material for media interactions.
  • Create aesthetic visual content that reflects the NVIT branding.
  • Coordinate the development, design, preparation, and delivery of a wide variety of print and electronic promotional and informational materials including news releases, newsletters, notices, pamphlets, brochures, and displays.
  • Collaborate with departments and committees to achieve brand consistency and promote NVIT brand standards.
  • Promote and participate in the planning and delivery of institutional and special events.
  • Effectively communicate on-campus events and news to the internal and external NVIT community.
  • NVIT’s main contact person for NVIT’s contract communication services.
  • Prepare, update, and distribute monthly newsletters, podcast links, and/or blogs.
  • Update and maintain the NVIT website.
  • Capture photos during events and activities, as the custodian of one of the company’s cameras.
  • Maintain an updated and organized media archive.
  • Leverage NVIT’s branding, initiatives, communications and public relations strategies through various social media platforms and integrated efforts.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of NVIT’s various social media platforms, and public relations, and working closely with the Manager of Marketing, Communications & Events to incorporate effective marketing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and sharing NVIT information and materials with community partners including, but not limited to, First Nation Communities, Indigenous organizations, and educational institutes within the K-12 post-secondary systems.
