Part Time Building Caretaker

From $19 an hour

Main Job Responsibilities

Responsible for limited administrative work involved in the operation of the properties according to procedures and under the direction of the Property Manager, including but not limited to:

• Schedule and complete viewings for rental units
• Completing incoming and/or outgoing inspections for rental suites
• 4-5 hours per week cleaning
• Landscaping maintenance and snow removal
• Arranging and organizing vendors and working with 3rd party maintenance as needed
• Prepare detailed incident reports related to altercations and damage to the property and/or other applicable incidents
• Issue warning and breach letters, serve notices to tenants when required
• Maintain accurate tenant files and enforce all bylaws and rules
• Cleaning vacant units and completing minor repairs and/or painting when directed (billable per hour)
• Perform minor maintenance throughout the building
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of interior and exterior of properties
• Other duties as required from time to time as directed by the Property Manager
• Deal with emergencies on a 24-hour basis
• Keep a daily calendar of events, tasks (completed and in progress), etc.
• Communicate continually with the Property Manager

Qualifications

• 2+ years relevant experience an asset
• Working knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act an asset
• Motivated and professional with a service-oriented mindset
• Must be willing to learn and able to follow direction
• Excellent communicator; both verbal and written (email)
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to handle conflict tactfully
• Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office and overall computer skills
• Detail oriented
• Be reliable and able to work independently
• Must own a vehicle, class 7 or class 5 driver’s license with clean driving record

Experience:

• maintenance: 2 years (preferred)

           live-in position possible
