Temporary | Seasonal | Full-time Concrete Mixing Plant Labourer

$26–$28 an hour

We are seeking Concrete Mixing Plant Labourers to join our new Ready Mix Concrete Division in Merritt, BC. The ideal candidate has 1-2 years’ experience working as a labourer in a mining, construction or other industrial environment combined with a valid Class 5 Drivers’ licence. The Labourer is responsible for supporting plant operations, performing routine maintenance, and operating various tools and equipment. We are looking for candidates that have demonstrated a commitment to safety and want to be part of an exciting project and operations team.

Qualifications and Experience:

• The ideal candidate has 1-2 years’ experience working as a labourer in a mining, construction or other industrial environment combined with a valid Class 5 Drivers’ licence.
• Small equipment operation (packer, skid steer, forklift) experience is considered an asset
• Basic knowledge of concrete batching technology, equipment and methods is considered an asset
• Mechanical aptitude and a strong willingness to learn.
• Must be able to handle multiple task in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of working with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work independently and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Must have a demonstrated commitment to being a safety leader

Safety Requirements:

• Basic PPE to be supplied by the worker are boots, hi-visibility vest, hardhat and glasses. Infracon will provide any specialized PPE.
• Drug and Alcohol testing, as required
• Safety certifications OFA Level 1 and SiteReady BC (CSTS) is required

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

This position works outdoors a majority of time and conditions may include very cold or hot temperatures, wind, flying dust, and uneven ground. The labourer position requires frequent standing, walking, twisting, bending, reaching and kneeling. Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights.

Experience:

• industrial labourer: 1 year (preferred)
