Is looking for a Summer Student to be the : Arts and Crafts Coordinator
$18.00 per hour
We are seeking an eager and talented individual with a passion for working with kids to join our team for the summer as an Arts and Crafts Coordinator.
You will be responsible for our Crafty Kids Summer Camp, Art in Motion art trailer visits to local parks, and attending summer markets and events in Spirit Square. You will work with kids of different ages from 5-12 (for Crafty Kids) and children and adults of all ages for the Art in Motion and summer events.
This Summer Program position is tailored to someone particularly creative and passionate about the arts. The Arts and Crafts Coordinator will work directly with our other summer staff to plan, prepare, and execute all arts and crafts activities throughout the summer. Additionally, they will work closely with the Activities Coordinator to plan for the week on a regular basis. They will oversee inventories for all arts and crafts, creating examples, ensuring everything is purchased while working within a budget, organized, and ready to go when needed. Moreover, this person will be in charge of creating an arts and crafts binder as a record of all crafts with instructions, what is needed, where the items can be found, and how the craft went.
Qualifications:
Must be 19-30 years old.
Must have a Class 5 driver's license.
Must have First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
Preferred work experience with children.
Creativity and innovation as a skill is an asset.
We welcome youth who self-identify as being part of groups which are underrepresented or have additional barriers to the labour market.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and lead arts and crafts activities for kids, ensuring a creative and engaging environment for the Crafty Kids Summer Camp and for the Art in Motion art trailer visits to local parks.
Manage supplies and materials, including filing and organizing inventory.
Monitor and evaluate participant engagement, providing feedback to improve future programs.
Create examples for each craft.
