Looking for an On-Call Field Technician

$29.75 per hour

Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License
Required Skills:
Data collection (detail orientated), intermediate knowledge of compassing, mapping, using an iPad, technical writing skills, and legible notes.
Qualifications:
•Good physical condition
•Occupational Basic First Aid
•Intermediate knowledge of plants, animals, and trees
•Intermediate knowledge of the surrounding area
•Be willing to take training as required
Education and/or Work Experience:
•Natural Resource Technician/Environmental Resource Technician certificate or diploma,
•RISC Archaeological Field Crew and Culturally Modified Tree Certificate and/or
•Archaeological field experience or archaeology courses.
•Knowledge of the Nlaka’pamux/Sylix language and culture is an asset.
The Job will entail:
Field work in all weather conditions, hiking on all types of terrain, conducting preliminary field reconnaissance, shovel test pits, long hours, flexible for weekend work.
Work Apparel:
Hi Vis Vest and/or Cruising Vest, Steel Toed Work Boots, Hard Hat, leather gloves and safety glasses (large tote to carry field gear)

Please note that this is a seasonal position and work is dependent on work projects.
