Looking for seasonal / Full time / Temporary Heavy Equipment Operator
$34–$38 an hour
The successful candidate must be proficient in operating a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, and skid steers. This position also involves general labour tasks when equipment is not in use.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, including:
- Excavators
- Dozers
- Wheel Loaders
- Skid Steers
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance (e.g., greasing, cleaning).
- Support the crew with general labour duties, including:
- Shoveling and raking
- Placing and compacting fill
- Assisting with material handling and site cleanup
- Flagging or spotting for other operators
- Follow site and project-specific safety procedures and ensure safe operation at all times.
- Maintain a respectful and productive relationship with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil or industrial construction
- Proficient in operating excavators, dozers, loaders, and skid steers
- Willingness and ability to perform manual labour when not operating equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor issues is an asset
- Strong commitment to safety and a positive work environment
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and professionalism
- Experience on mine or remote work sites considered an asset
Safety & Site Requirements
- Must supply own basic PPE: steel-toe boots, hi-visibility vest, hard hat, and safety glasses
- Valid safety certifications (First Aid, CSTS, WHMIS) are considered assets
- Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol testing may be required
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role is performed outdoors on an active construction site and includes exposure to variable weather, uneven terrain, and physically demanding tasks. Operators must be capable of transitioning between machine operation and labour support, including lifting, climbing, kneeling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
