The Local Butcher

Is looking for a Butcher Shop Associate

$18.00-$22.00 per hour

This is a hands-on varied role for someone who enjoys working with food and being part of a small, collaborative team. You’ll be involved in multiple areas of the shop including

• Product Creation: Helping prepare and execute items like sandwiches, ready-to-eat meals, soups, and sausages
• Food Prep & Production: Cooking, prepping ingredients, stuffing and smoking sausages, and supporting in-house products
• Customer Service: Assisting customers, sharing product knowledge, and creating a welcoming shop experience
• Retail & Merchandizing: Keeping displays stocked, organized, clearly labeled and visually appealing
• Ship Support: Assisting with wrapping, stocking, cleaning, setup, and day-to-day operations

Ideal Candidate

• Reliable and punctual, with consistent attendance
• Able to complete tasks independently and follow through
• Strong attention to detail and care in food preparation
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Willing to learn new skills, including basic butchery tasks
• Takes initiative and contributes to a well-run shop environment
• Provides friendly, respectful customer service

Experience & Skills

• Previous food service, kitchen or retail experience is an asset but not required
• Basic food safety knowledge is an asset
• Training provided
