Is looking for an Early Childhood Educator
$27.00-$29.00 per hour
Tasks
- Develop and implement daily and weekly program plans
- Lead and facilitate age-appropriate activities
- Promote a positive, inclusive and culturally respectful learning environment
- Provide active supervision of children at all times
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards
- Conduct daily safety inspections, including playground checks
- Observe and assess children’s development and progress
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians
- Develop and implement care plans for children requiring additional support
- Maintain accurate attendance records
- Update children’s files and documentation
- Report concerns to appropriate personnel
- Prepare and serve snacks in accordance with Food Safe Standards
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe classroom environment
- Assist with general cleaning and daily program upkeep
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Uphold professional standards in conduct and appearance
- Reflect the mission, vision, and values of Conayt Friendship Society
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification (BC)
- Strong knowledge of child development (ages 3-5)
- Previous experience working in an early childhood setting
- Food Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Successful Criminal Record Check
- Strong leadership, organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and families
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Knowledge of indigenous cultures and communities
- Experience working with indigenous organizations or Friendship Centers
- Knowledge of community resources
