Report To: Finance Manager
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Hours Per Week: 35 hours a week
WAGE: $25.00 to $33/Hour (Based on experience and qualifications)
Position Start: As soon as possible
Conayt Friendship Society is a community-focused organization committed to supporting and empowering individuals and families. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Finance Coordinator to join our team and support our financial operations.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the organization’s financial processes. This includes accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, record keeping, and administrative financial support.
- Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and respond to related inquiries
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Support invoicing and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare purchase orders and cheque requisitions
- Assist with the annual budgeting process
- Maintain donations and records and issue acknowledgements
- Prepare and deliver bank deposits • Maintain funding agreements and assist with reporting requirements
- Support payroll processes by organizing timesheets and leave forms
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Assist with audit preparation and requests • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or a related field
- 2–4 years of related finance or accounting experience • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting systems (experience with Xyntax is an asset)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of work
- Experience with audit processes is considered an asset Skills & Abilities
- Proficient computer skills, including accounting software • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of confidentiality, diligence, and reliability
- Flexible, cooperative, and team-oriented approach Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- Successful Criminal Record Check
- Proof of education and certification (if selected for interview)
- Minimum of three (3) professional references
