Is looking for a Project Manager – Heavy Civil

$50.00-$60.00

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delay and ensure timely delivery
  • Prepare and issue project deliverables in accordance with contract requirements
  • Develop and monitor resource requirements, coordinating with personnel across divisions to optimize efficiency
  • Provide positive safety and quality leadership throughout the duration of the project
  • Work closely with the Superintendent to monitor financial aspects of the contract to protect interests of all parties
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
  • Provide technical guidance to site personnel and proactively resolve project challenges
  • Review and report on project cost variances, providing feedback to project teams as appropriate
  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental (HSE) practices
  • Maintain working knowledge of HSE regulations and ensure their application on site
  • Assist in the development and execution of the construction schedule with the Superintendent
  • Evaluate workmanship and ensure compliance with the company Quality Management Program
  • Manage material orders, confirm receipt, and coordinate equipment returns
  • Maintain accurate daily reports documenting progress, inspections, and other relevant information
  • Complete daily online reporting using app-based programs
  • Identify and solve constructability issues, applying innovative solutions to project planning

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of project management experience in heavy civil construction
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Technology
  • Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling and safety regulations
  • Ability to take on unique challenges daily, with the responsibility of keeping a project on schedule and in budget
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel to out-of-town project sites as needed
  • Knowledge of WorkSafeBC Health & safety legislation and regulations
  • Ability to complete online orientations and digital training requirements as needed
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
