Is looking for a Terminal Labourer

$20.00 an hour

The Terminal Labourer is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the organization, storage, and distribution of goods in a warehouse environment. This position operates with a four-on, four-off schedule rotation of 12-hour shifts

The role of the Terminal Labourer will be expected to take on other duties and responsibilities not specified below, as required and as the business necessitates, on an occasional or on-going basis.

Roles, Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Load and unload materials from containers into the warehouse, and vice versa
• Verifying item & quantity to ensure accuracy in storage/shipment placement
• Locating, picking and pulling shipments in an accurate and timely manner
• Relocating shipments as required
• Scanning/inventory of items
• Warehouse/terminal organization
• As required perform general labour and cleaning tasks
• Communicate effectively with lead hand, make recommendations on process improvements
• Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures

Basic Administration:

• Completed detailed and accurate timecards
• Ensure accurate record keeping of tasks onsite
• Ensure paperwork relating to transloading/storage is complete and accurate
• Read and sign off on all related company SOPs

Education Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12
• A valid Class 5 driver’s license

Terminal Requirements:

• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
• Be able to lift up to 50lbs, and stand for extended periods of time

Position Requirements:

• Previous warehouse/labourer experience would be considered an asset
• The ability to work in various weather conditions and environments

Soft Skills Required:

• Demonstrate strong work ethic and self-motivation, working independently and taking initiative on site
• Exercise sound judgement and make practical, safety-focused decisions during equipment operation
• Maintain attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in equipment operation, inspections, and task completion
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other site personnel
