The Business Integration Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the integration of newly acquired companies, business units, or operations into the organization. This role ensures a smooth transition by aligning people, processes, systems, culture, and operational practices while minimizing disruption to ongoing business activities. The Manager works closely with leadership and management teams, functional departments, and acquired staff to achieve integration objectives, realize synergies, and support long-term organizational success.
Duties:
- Liaise with leadership, finance, legal, and external advisors to identify transaction risks, integration requirements, cost implications, and synergy opportunities prior to acquisition
- Develop integration readiness assessments and preliminary integration plans to support acquisition decision-making and transition planning
- Review and evaluate business processes, contracts, technology platforms, health and safety programs, and management systems to identify gaps and integration requirements
- Provide recommendations to senior leadership regarding integration complexity, resource requirements, change management considerations, and post-acquisition priorities
- Lead the development and execution of post-acquisition integration plans and timelines
- Coordinate integration activities across key functional areas, including operations, human resources, finance, information technology, health and safety, and administration
- Identify integration risks, challenges, and opportunities, while developing mitigation strategies
- Act as the primary liaison between acquired organizations and internal leadership teams
- Facilitate change management initiatives to support employee engagement, communication, and organizational alignment
- Oversee the integration of policies, procedures, management systems, and operational processes
- Monitor integration milestones, performance metrics, and key deliverables to ensure objectives are met
- Support workforce transition activities, including organizational design, role alignment, onboarding, and training
- Ensure regulatory, contractual, and compliance requirements are maintained through the integration process
- Lead stakeholder engagement and communication efforts to maintain transparency and support collaboration
- Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost savings, and process improvements
- Prepare reports and provide regular updates to senior leadership on integration progress, risk, and outcomes
- Foster a unified organizational culture while balancing organizational values between both the acquired business and the acquiring business
- Support mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and other growth initiatives by providing due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition execution leadership
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of business operations, organizational change, project coordination, an process improvement principles
- Knowledge of business integration practices, including operational alignment, workforce transitions, systems implementation, and change management
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple integration initiatives, projects, and completing priorities simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, evaluate impacts, and implement practical solutions
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, employees, contractors, acquired business representatives, and external stakeholders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions, manage sensitive conversations, and support organizational change
- Ability to develop, review, and implement policies, procedures, workflows, and operational processes
- Ability to analyze information, monitor progress against objectives, and prepare reports and recommendations for leadership decision-making
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint applications
- Willingness to learn and or knowledge of beginner n?e?kepmxcín, n?e?képmx cultural values and protocols, while recognizing and respecting cultural diversity
Experience & Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Management Project Management, Organizational Development, or a related discipline
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) is considered an asset
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in project management, organizational change, business operations, integration management, or a related field
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and coordinating activities across multiple departments or business units
- Experience developing implementation plans, monitoring progress against timelines, and reporting on project outcomes and organizational objectives
- Experience supporting organizational growth, business acquisitions, business transitions, or large-scale change initiatives is considered an asset
- Valid BC class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle
