Is looking for a Cost Accountant/Inventory Manager
$60,000-$62,000 Annually
Duties
Reporting to VP, Finance, The Cost Accountant/Inventory manager will work with employees at multiple organizational levels to:
- Prepare & analyze weekly program costs in BC Divisions
- Monthly & quarterly costing to VP operations and Divisional Managers in BC
- Preparation of business forecasting & budgets
- Analyze accounting/costing results
- Monitor variances & identify trends make recommendations after discussion with operations staff
- Recommending actions to the Senior Accountant and/or VP Finance
- Prepare and maintain financial records in accordance with accounting standards
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account analysis
- Support audits and respond to accounting inquiries
- Analysis & development of accounting/costing processes
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- Accuracy of transfers
- Adjustments to a physical inventory
- Coordinating seasonal inventory counts
- Proposing strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics
- RFQ for bulk purchasing
- Maintaining the supply chain management process across the company
- Developing methods and tools to improve inventory controls
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business degree
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant accounting experiences or financial analysis
- Experience with Eclipse ERP accounting software will be considered and asset
- Experience in Highway maintenance will be an asset
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory management is a strong asset
- Supervisory and management is a strong asset
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
- Advance knowledge of Excel and MS Office suites
- Above-average analytical and organizational skills are needed for the completion of reports and documentation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5) and a positive driving record
