EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:
- Degree (Preferred) or Diploma in Human or Social Service or other related field – A degree is an asset
- 1-year recent experience working with families, youth, and children facing multiple barriers
- Or a combination of education, training, and experience
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES: Demonstrated Knowledge and strong abilities to
- Build strong, trusting relationships with clients, families, and care teams
- Apply evidence-based approaches to support individuals facing mental health, addiction, and violence-related challenges
- Facilitate engaging group sessions and life skills development
- Support emotional regulation, coping strategies, and positive behaviour change
- Effectively manage crisis situations and challenging behaviours
- Communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, advocate for client needs
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation and confidentiality
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and inclusivity across diverse backgrounds
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new technologies
Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and safe driving record
- Own vehicle with business use and third-party liability insurance of $5 million (reimbursement is provided)
- Ability to travel to the surrounding areas identified within our contracts
- Following training is required an provided to the successful candidate free of charge. Existing certification is an asset: CPR-C, Mandt, SafeTALK, Safe food Handling, MCFD Privacy, Anti-bullying Abuse and Neglect Awareness training and Harassment
- A background check through the BC Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General is required
- This job requires union membership within a 1.85% union dues deduction form pay
