Is looking for an Industrial Hygiene Technician
$60,000-$80,000
The industrial Hygiene technician will play a key role in the industrial hygiene program across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing and calibrating sampling equipment for field use
- Industrial hygiene sample collection for industrial dusts and vapours
- Conducting noise assessments
- Cataloguing hazardous materials on site
- Data interpretation in relation to legislative requirements
- Performing respirator fit testing
- Data entry and records administration
- Develop and implement IGH/OH programs and initiatives to identify, assess, and control workplace health hazards
- Ensure IH/OH efforts reduce risk to people, the environment, and the organization in alignment with global Occupational Health & Safety strategies
- Assisting ad providing coverage for the Industrial Hygienist, when needed
- The successful candidate will be expected to work afternoon shifts, split shifts, and weekends on some occasions
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in science or engineering or a wo-year diploma in occupational health and safety with air sampling experience
- Knowledge of occupational health and Hygiene
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt and manage a busy workload
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- A commitment to technical excellence
- Completion of, or enrollment in a post graduate occupational health and safety program is considered desirable
Preference would be given to candidate with:
- Mining experience
- 2-3 years experience in a safety-oriented role
Other Requirements:
Candidates will be required to participate In a comprehensive qualification process, including:
- Completion of pre-placement functional screen
- Provide proof of a valid driver’s license
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in Canada
- Provide confirmation of valid educational requirements
