Community Outreach Cook

Conayt Friendship Society is looking for a qualified and motivated individual for the position Community Outreach Cook. This position is a term position August 2022- March 31, 2023. Hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:00pm. The Outreach Worker will be responsible for; planning, prepping and delivery of food, connect individuals to support resources, providing basic living necessities and assisting with youth programming and outreach.

Wage: $18.50/hr. 

General Responsibilities: 

  • Provide well-balanced meals adhering to Health Regulations
  • Cook/Prepare meals for the community
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized kitchen; ensure that the cleaning schedules are followed daily
  • Maintain a working environment that meets or exceeds all requirements from the Health Department and Conayt Friendship Society’s standings
  • Orders and purchase food and kitchen supplied within approved budget
  • Prepare and post the menu to the community
  • Experience in using different cooking tools, equipment, and utensils
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of food preparation techniques
  • Able to withstand long hours of standing, bending, and moving around
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics to make correct measurements of ingredients
  • Ability to follow recipe instructions
  • Complete monthly reporting
  • Attend training, and staff meetings as required
  • Assume other duties as required 

Qualifications: 

  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate- up to date
  • 1-2 years of food service experience, preferable cooking for large groups of people
  • Familiar with the Health and Sanitary regulations
  • At least 2-3 references
  • Valid Driver’s License; reliable transportation
  • Compliance with Conayt Friendship Society COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
