Looking for Full Time Safety Coordinator
$65,000 to $75,000. Based on the successful candidate's experience.
As Safety Coordinator, you will work with our Management Team performing several Occupational Health & Safety Program activities for the company, including;
- Team lead for reviewing and revising the company's Health & Safety Management System (H&S) and associated safety-related documentation, including manuals, handbooks, forms, documented processes and related methods.
- Interact frequently with management and supervisors within our operating areas on safety policies and procedural requirements to maintain compliance with the company's H&S Program.
- Assist with maintaining the company's Document Control directory (safety-related documents & records) for accuracy and currency against requirements of the WorkSafeBC Regulations, the company's Health & Safety Program, online Safety Management Program and Quality Management System.
- Team Lead for implementing, administering and guiding the company's COR (Certificate of Recognition) audit program.
- Attend third-party external audits in our operating areas when they are conducted to provide support to the management group on safety-related items.
- Team Lead for generating company safety reports and statistics to review with top management.
In applying for this exciting position, you should bring these qualifications;
- Completed a minimum Grade 12 education, with preference given to candidates with experience in a safety-related management position
- Auditor experience with preference to BCCSA Internal Auditor Certification and/or ISO Auditor certification.
- Supervisory and/or Management Skills Training
- Familiarity with applying the ISO Standard and working within a Quality Management System
- Familiarity with the application of Safety, Quality or Environmental Management Systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other associated Office Software Platforms
- Above-average analytical and organizational skills needs for the completion of reports and documentation
- Valid BC Driver's License (Class 5) and a positive driving record
