Looking for a Full Time Community Prevention Worker

$34.21–$38.72

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to plan, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate workshops, community events and programs
• Extensive experience working with local Indigenous communities and a comprehensive understanding of Indigenous cultural and traditional approaches, with the ability to prioritize these approaches over Western methodologies.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and other IT platforms for word processing, databases, reports, online communications, and spreadsheets.
• Clear Criminal Record check and Ministry of Children and Family Development Prior Contact Check required before commencement of employment.
• Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license without restrictions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Diploma in social services, project management, education or other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of three years of progressive experience in a social/community services setting
• Minimum of one year of experience working with Indigenous children, young people, families, and communities
• Demonstrated knowledge and professional and personal practice of n?e?kepmx and syilx traditional values, cultural practice, and protocols is an asset
