Is looking for a Technical Machine Operator
$18.00-$22.00/ Per hour
Tasks
- Operating a highly automated production machine that produces pre-cast concrete products such as paving stones, sidewalk slabs, and retaining walls
- Working at the quality control station to remove any defective products
- Follow daily job travelers to ensure orders are complete
- Assist with the Total Preventative Maintenance program
- Ensure that safety policies are followed
- Maintain quality workmanship
- Track data and information on the computer system
- Depending on the individual’s motivation, this role has the potential of expanding into other key machine operator roles within the plant
- Physical activities include walking, standing, kneeling, bending, lifting (Up to 50lbs), reaching, using arms/hands to operate equipment, visually distinguishing colors
- Required to wear a hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection at all times and a respirator (Which requires an employee to be clean shaven) when needed for specific jobs
Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment running a production machine
- Experience operating heavily automated production equipment
- Capability to lead one to two others if required
- Ability to troubleshoot irregularities on production machinery
- Basic maintenance experience and a mechanical aptitude
- Strong numerical and mathematical skills
- Comfortable with using computers for entering data and recording information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts
- Experience using precision measuring tools for quality checks
- An eye for detail and color to create products that meet customer expectations
- Basic concrete/precast knowledge is an asset
