Is looking for a Youth Programs Coordinator

$36,400-$54,600 annually

Closing Date: September 9th , 2026

 

Primary duties:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate youth programs and activities
  • Facilitate youth participation in sports and activities by planning and implementing events
  • Organize and oversee youth engagement in workshops and conferences
  • Coordinate and implement youth participation in harvesting activities
  • Facilitate youth involvement in hunting, fishing, and cultural camps
  • Collaborate with community members and organization to promote participating in activities
  • Develop and implement strategies to involve youth in cultural and traditional practices
  • Evaluate programs and gather feedback to enhance future offerings
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of n?e?ke?pmx culture and language is an asset
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with youth, families, and community members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize, multitask, and manage time
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Knowledge of and experience in working with Indigenous heritage, language, and traditional practices
  • Willingness to learn n?e?kepmx cultural values and protocols while recognizing and respecting cultural diversity

Experience and Requirements:

  • Experience working with youth in a community setting, preferably in Indigenous environments
  • Experience in program delivery is an asset
  • Willingness to travel for work with a valid BC class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
  • Willingness to complete and pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Willingness to submit a driver’s abstract with a score of 1000 or less
